Father of Democratic Reforms“马来西亚民主改革之父”Bapak Demokrasi Malaysia ??

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
http://rockybru.com.my/2008/10/bapak-demokrasi.html
Koh Tsu Koon, the Gerakan president, says today that Pak Lah deserves the title Bapa Demokrasi for allowing a greater freedom of speech during his premiership.The former chief minister of Penang forgets that it was Pak Lah who broke Malaysia's promise to the world that it would not censor the Internet. He has also forgotten, perhaps, that Raja Petra is still being detained under the Interal Security Act and a journalist was detained under the same Act for 18 hours for a doing her job. Newspapers were issued show-cause letters, editors reprimanded on the phone, and publishing permits have been suspended during his time.In fact, one of the first things Pak Lah did after he became Prime Minister was to sack NSTP group editor-in-chief Abdullah Kok Lanas for an article he deemed too critical of the Saudis!
...... bla bla bla ......
5 bills in 5 months?
October 8, when Abdullah announced his no contest decision, he listed five initiatives -- which he named as his mission -- that he intended “to see through” in the next 5 months before time runs up in March next year, namely:
ESTABLISHING the Judicial Appointments Commission to enhance the stature of the judiciary;
ESTABLISHING the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission with greater powers of investigation and enforcement;
ESTABLISHING the Special Complaints Commission to enhance the integrity and effectiveness of enforcement agencies;
STRENGTHENING and enlarging the Social Safety Net to ensure aid to all, regardless of race and religion; and
HOLDING a Barisan Nasional convention to improve inter-racial and inter-religious relations.
He said he will table the related bills at the Parliament to realise the five initiatives he mentioned.
A day later, October 9, he promised to find a solution to controversial issues such as religious conversions and inter-marriages before he leaves office next March.
Does Abdullah really have the time? The current session of the Parliament sitting will come to a recess on December 11. Starting October 11, a total of eight days have been allocated for the debate of Budget 2009 and the passing of the supply bill, to be followed by replies by the ministries.
Another question is whether Abdullah can do in five remaining months what he could not in five years?
...... bacalah sampai perenggang terakhir ......
Lets see what will happen in the next 5 months until March 2009.
天亮前的最后一夜
【海雨天风/李华龙专栏】一如所料,阿都拉巴达威利用从纳吉那里取得十天左右宽裕的时间,作去留的最后琢磨;也一如所料,他宁可选择“天堂路”,做“善终”的元老,抛弃世俗物欲,急流勇退,“名流青史”。10月9日深夜,槟、吉、霹三州数百名营营碌碌的基层支持者轮番乞求无效。翌日,阿都拉黯然宣读七页告别政坛文告,为RAHMAN皇朝倒数第二位的“A”时代画上句号。“天亮了”!
一切有如安拉的安排,阿都拉“时来运到”,2004年被推上宝座,但“时运不济”,复被拉下马。马哈迪是安拉的“使者”,阿都拉则十足是个“老实人”——用回教徒的语言来说:“安拉忠诚的信徒”。他本有绝佳的机会,但昧于“游戏规则”,辜负“使者”的衣钵,没有勇气抓住接棒者“色欲”与“铜臭”的包袱,作为巩固自己宝座的垫脚石。一切“纠正”巫统的幻想,不过是虚无缥缈的“迷信”。
他的悲剧是庶民的“福音”,安华的再造“自由身”、“林甘丑闻”黑洞捅开、巫统半壁河山变色,乃至“916变天”上演,无不与他密切相关。临终,他虽念念不忘“改革”,但终究不越雷池半步,斤斤于保持官僚皇朝的“完整”,以身殉职。“伟大的阿都拉”!
阿都拉下台,与东姑阿都拉曼类似,不同的是一个是极端种族主义皇朝“上升时期”的牺牲者,一个是极端种族主义皇朝没落时期的祭品,与拉萨、胡先翁、马哈迪完全不同。时代趋向决定了他们不同的角色。
RAHMAN寿终正寝的关头
RAHMAN皇朝轮换周期已接近寿终正寝的关头,“N”时代却恰恰是巫统第二代太子党晋身之时。他背负着“罪恶十字架”上台,接过内外交困的烂摊子。“时不我予”是福(腐)是祸(活),就看他的造化了。尚未正式坐稳位置,庸庸碌碌的二号候选人,已争得撕破脸皮,为分杯姜而强出头。靠种族主义兴家者,必败亡于种族主义。
“916变天”连续集已告“大结局”,末代太子党已然开锣。国会如果依时开会,安华应当提“全力支持阿都拉改革”的动议(而不是相反,“不信任”),至少在不稳定的过渡期逼使纳吉跟着潮流走,这既能进一步分化巫统,也能暴露纳吉的底牌,有利于保温夺权的势头,加速太子党的没落。
还可以促使“纠正国阵”的盟党坚定脱离巫统的倾向。你看,连阿都拉也纠正不了巫统(安华也无能为力),民政党、马华公会又有何“科里”?
所谓“平起平坐”,所谓“敢怒敢言”,(this is typical "syok sendiri") 是自欺欺人的台词。看来民政党给“两年巫统改变”的议决并未修改,“支持阿都拉改革”的动议,不但可以得到他们的同情,也可以加强他们组成国阵内的“第三集团”,或国阵外的“第三集团”的决心。马华公会及东马盟党跟进的可能是不能忽视的。
评论人忽略了一个事实:即民政党党决议“给巫统两年的时间”,刚好和阿都拉原来2010年交棒“巧合”。民政党寄望的阿都拉已下野,成了不无根的“孤哀子”,“书生”许子根何去何从?
民政党一旦沦为“第三集团”(无论在朝在野),最终只剩下唯一的选择——与民联合流,或者正式同盟,或者时离时合的“同路人”。最近有心人曾拜访过槟州民政党元老及已退党者,得到极“受鼓舞”的印象。盖此为没落皇朝分崩离析的前奏现象之一也。
最近安华“个人化”的趋向越来越浓,他应当从“916变天”告终吸取教训,回到草根,回到现实,才能给上述种种“可能性”以客观的基础,才能给马来西亚转型加码。
RED in colour is the comment that I added in the original.
BLP
http://www.merdekareview.com/news.php?n=7838
民政党全国主席许子根为首相阿都拉冠以“马来西亚民主改革之父”的称号,并认为其接班人副首相纳吉将延续阿都拉所展开的改革运动,民政党将支持并与纳吉共同努力改革政府和国阵。
许子根今早在吉隆坡民政党大厦为该党第37届代表大会发表主题演说时,赞誉阿都拉“作为一名首相,他开创良政改革,以及致力推动诚信;作为 一名推崇民主的人士,他为马来西亚人民打开了更大的民主空间”。他指出。阿都拉“矢言打击贪污、提高贫困人士的生活水平”,民政党欢迎和支持阿都拉退休前 推动改革的承诺。
许子根也予以纳吉相当高的评价。他说:“提到纳吉,我们将有一位明智、有经验及有魄力的领袖,延续伯拉所奠下的基础;纳吉相信也同样会延续伯拉所展开的改革运动。民政党将支持及与纳吉共同努力改革政府及国阵。”
apasal itu Anak Akar begitu BLP?
Sharing KHAIRI'S DILEMMA
http://test.chedet.com/che_det/2008/10/snippets-13.html#more
KHAIRI'S DILEMMA
1. I feel so sad about the plight of Khairi Jamaluddin, one of the candidates for head of UMNO Youth. He says that he is being prevented from meeting UMNO youths. This might result in his losing the race for the much coveted post.
2. I would advise him not to be disheartened. There are so many other ways of influencing Pemuda than meeting with them. I will not enumerate them as he will know how to use these other ways.
3. If I remember correctly he won the post of Deputy Chief of Pemuda without anyone casting any votes. He won it uncontested. Apart from UMNO Youth chief Hishamuddin Hussein who gave other possible candidates a tongue lashing - telling them in no uncertain terms that they must not contest the position because it was reserved for the Prime Minister's son-in-law, others suspected of having ambitions to contest for the post received phone calls from family members of the PM and other influential supporters not to do anything to spoil the ambition of this first time UMNO member with absolutely no track record from winning uncontested.
4. Although my son will be contesting I have no doubt Khairi will win hands down.
5. I don't know whether people have heard about the thief who cried "thief!". Well the thief got away because people who are not very intelligent went chasing in the opposite direction. The highly educated thief then walked away with his booty.
6. I say good luck to Khairi. You are brilliant and worthy of being a brilliant graduate of that great institution, Oxford University of Great Britain.
